Creating Listings

There are multiple ways to create listings on Collexpo, all based on utilizing our databases to limit the necessary data input.

  1. Item Browser – find the desired item in the item browser and click the Sell This Item (orange button under item image)
    1. List just this item – choosing this option will bring you to the create a single item listing flow
    2. Add to CSV Clipboard – choose this option in order to create listings using CSV files.  See below for more information.

  1. CSV Clipboard -  link located in the top right of any Collexpo page.  There are two ways to create listings from the Clipboard:
    1. Quicklist Checked Items

                                          i.    Check the items you want (or select all).

ii.    Click the Quicklist Checked Items link.

iii.    The Quicklist page will load, showing each item you selected.

iv.    You can only enter item price and custom shipping cost for each item.  (If you have more detailed information, please use CSV file.)

                                        v.    All other item information is pulled from the database and other listing information is pulled from your preferences (learn more about listing preferences)

1.    NOTE: You must have listing preferences set on you’re My Account page.  These preferences will populate your Quicklist listings (except where you enter item-specific information (either price or shipping cost).

    1. Exporting to CSV

                                          i.    Check the items you want (or select all).

ii.    Click the Export to CSV button.

iii.    Make sure you save the exported CSV to a location that you will remember on your computer.  From the save dialog box, you may wish to Open the file (rather than save it).  Be sure to save it before you close it or turn off your computer.

iv.    Once you open the file (or saved, then opened), provide the info for your listings.  See below for more information.

                                        v.    HINT: in sports cards, if you are trying to list many or all cards from one set, navigate to any card in that set.  Click the “View Entire Set” link (blue button below browser).

1.    A new page will show all the cards from that set with check boxes by each card.

2.    Click the Select All checkbox – checks should appear by every card in the list. (You may wish to manually uncheck the first two items in the list, Box and Complete Set)

3.    Click the Add to CSV Clipboard link at the top of the page.

4.    All checked cards will populate your CSV Clipboard age.  Follow the above instructions to generate your CSV file.

  1. Complete CSV files – the fastest way to get many listings up.
    1. Collexpo is happy to assist you with uploading any volume of listings through CSV files. Contact us to learn more.

    1. If you have either exported items to a CSV or listed items by name into the CSV template, you can begin creating listings

    1. Except for the top row with column headers, each row in a CSV represents an item you are listing (selling).

    1. NOTE: we recommend that you complete your Listing Preferences on you’re my Account page; these settings will populate relevant fields that you leave blank on the CSV (for example, shipping cost, shipping terms, return policy, etc.).

    1. If your Listing Preferences have been set, the required info for a listing is the item title (may have pulled from the database already), your User ID number (see you’re My Profile page), the category ID, price (if different than default).  For Sports Cards, we strongly prefer to have card number (if available) to ensure proper matching with our database.

                                          i.    The following fields are optional, though we stress that buyers always appreciate more information than less: description and condition (or authenticity).

    1. Any information you provide on the CSV will supersede your preferences.  Relevant fields that are left blank will be filled by your preferences.

    1. NOTE: We work directly with many high volume vendors to ease the process of managing CSV listings.

  1. Upload / Import CSV Files
    1. Complete self-service functionality is still in the works.  For the time being, please send us your completed CSV file to CSV@collexpo.com.

    1. We will list your items within 24 hours and send you a report in CSV format with the Listing ID numbers for each new listing.  Any errors will also be note in this report.
